Skinner Releasing and the Art of Performance are weekend workshops led by Alex Crowe and Sally E. Dean that explore movement and the art of performance based on Skinner Releasing Technique™ (SRT). Beginning from daily classes in SRT, the afternoon “art of performance” workshops explore key aspects of the technique (touch, sound and poetic imagery) as ways into performance and performance making. Each weekend focuses on a different theme: costume, object, language and image. The SRT classes may also be taken on their own.

Alex Crowe is a performer and performance maker working mainly in movement-based theatre. He holds an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths College and teaches movement, improvisation and performance in both Higher Education, independent professional and community settings. Alex co-curates the ‘Stranger than Fiction’ platform for improvisation in performance at Siobhan Davies Studios.
